The Teacher Behind Katelyn’s Learning Studio:
Hey there! My name is Katelyn and I am the creator of Katelyn’s Learning Studio and the Reaching Your Readers Course. I have a passion for teaching reading and helping teachers reach their struggling readers. I have helped thousands of teachers be the difference for their struggling readers.
I love working one on one with students who are struggling and falling behind in school. When I was in the classroom, my passion was reaching those students who were falling behind–believing in them and helping them believe in themselves too. I LOVE seeing the magic when a child truly believes in themselves and sees progress.
My biggest goal is to help teachers everywhere make a difference for students who need it most so they can see that same magic in their own students.
I have a degree in Elementary Education from BYU with a minor in Teaching English as a Second Language. I have been in education for 10 years. I started out teaching first grade at a high-risk Title 1 school and then moved into private tutoring working one-on-one with struggling students.
I have been extensively trained in DIBELS and reading interventions, including ECRI, and was a Learning Target Specialist at my school. I trained other teachers in breaking down standards and building assessments and learning targets.
